Sourdough Loafs of 2024

Tried out some fun designs! I am off the culinary school in France so with my time left at home I got to baking, I hadn’t made sourdough in awhile but once I got back into the groove of it I was so fulfilled! Nothing can make me happier than a pretty loaf of good bread.

Sourdough Bagels
These turned out delicious, I hate to say it but it may be one of the best bagels I’ve ever had. Not to toot my own horn but they were truly amazing.

After boiling, I did some egg wash and everything bagel seasoning!

Very light but also the perfect bagel chew and crunch! The recipe I used: https://breadbyelise.com/homemade-sourdough-bagels/#wprm-recipe-container-1490

Scones
I made some cardamom sugar scones today.

Nooodlesss
Tonight I needed to eat something refreshing so I made some fried tofu and seasoned it with a sweet sesame soy sauce, a cilantro and cucumber salad, fried eggs cooked in the leftover tofu sauce, and sugar snap peas 🫛! I seasoned the noodles with a soy peanut sauce as well. 🙃

New Year! Happy 2024 🙂
Hello my little crumbs, 2023 was a bit of an odd year for me I created this blog with the intention of posting on it consistently but found myself cooking less after an eventful summer abroad where I also took a break from cooking too much. I plan to get back into everything again and my passion is slowly coming back. It’s not that I lost my desire to cook I just lacked motivation in life overall so now that I am in a good place we shall get back to work! In February or March I am happy to say I will get back into playing around with sourdough and desire to get creative with some loafs!
Although I did start an instagram account connected to this blog and have been posting dishes on there! Feel free to check it out the username is the_last_crumbb
I also want to practice more challenging international dishes again, slow cooked dishes like stews with tender meats & vegetables, and branch out to new recipes rather than what I am used to, as my tastebuds are tired of experiencing the same meals. If anyone has some fun cultural dishes I should attempt let me know ;)! I want to have fun cooking in my family home before I have a tiny kitchen in university haha. My family needs to be spoiled with great food before I leave. ❤

Adasi (Persian Lentil Soup)

Adasi Tried a new recipe yesterday, I really loved it as it’s a comforting recipe. I will post the recipe I used as it’s wonderfully simple and to the point! I definitely over caramelized the onions but they didn’t taste burnt so I salted them a little and it added a great flavor to the lentil soup which has a very simple warm lentil flavor. I will definitely consume this during the winter time.

Ratatouille
I didn’t follow a recipe but I had many vegetables and used what I had to recreate this famous dish

I don’t have a photo of it baked but after baking the tomato sauce covered it a little, I enjoyed this dish it’s a great way to use up veggies in the house!
